The Hawaii Community Foundation provides scholarships of up to $6,200 to students with a minimum 2.0 GPA throughout Hawaii. Most scholarships are offered based on need, but others on merit or extracurricular activities. There’s one application for all 190 of their scholarships. Local students have high chances to win!

Yes! You can use the same letter for multiple scholarships. Make sure the letter meets each scholarship's requirements, and isn't too specific to one scholarship. Tip: You might have to ask your recommender to change the wording for different applications.
If you haven't heard back within a few weeks, reach out to the scholarship organization! Some scholarship organizations email all the applicants to let them know if they were selected or not, while others only contact the winners—it usually depends on the number of applicants. It never hurts to follow up.
To be defined as a “nontraditional student,” you must meet ONLY ONE of the following criteria:
be over the age of 25 or
work full time (35 hours/week or more) while enrolled or
have dependents other than a spouse or
be financially independent from parents and/or considered independent for FAFSA purposes or
have not received a standard high school diploma (completed with a GED, HiSET, or certificate of completion) or
have delayed enrollment in college after high school for a reason other than a gap-year activity.
