The Junior Shooting Sports scholarship offers $5,000 Precision and Sporter college scholarships. Recipients aged under 18 (20 maximum) will be eligible to receive their scholarships immediately upon graduation from high school and must utilize the total award within eight (8) years, excluding active military duty or religious mission. Scholarships may be used to attend any college or university in the United States. The winners in both Precision and Sporter category will receive an expense paid trip to The American Legion National Convention where they will be honored as part of the Youth Champions Delegation. To increase your chances of getting a scholarship, apply early, follow all application instructions, and write a great scholarship essay (if applicable)! For more help, ask a Mos advisor!
If you haven't heard back within a few weeks, reach out to the scholarship organization! Some scholarship organizations email all the applicants to let them know if they were selected or not, while others only contact the winners—it usually depends on the number of applicants. It never hurts to follow up.
