Overview

The Presbyterian Study Grant (PSG) provides up to $8,000 for students planning careers in the church. To qualify, you must be an MDiv (Master of Divinity) or a MACE (Master of Arts in Christian Education) student, be enrolled full-time, and demonstrate financial need. To apply, you need an essay and references from the worshiping community you attend.

The scholarship I'm applying to asks for references. Who should I be putting down?

When choosing a reference, try to select someone who knows you well and can speak to your specific skills and achievements. Teachers, employers, and coaches are all great examples. FYI: you should never put down a family member or friend!

Can I use the same essay for multiple scholarship applications?

Yes! But make sure to read each scholarship application's essay guidelines and requirements, and personalize your essay to each scholarship you apply to. Using the same essay for multiple applications can be a time-saver, but changing just a sentence or two can make a difference!

How do I increase my chances of getting a scholarship?

To increase your chances of getting a scholarship, apply early, follow all application instructions, and write a great scholarship essay (if applicable)! For more help, ask a Mos advisor!
