Overview
The South Orange County PFLAG Scholarship awards up to $2,500 to residents (or children of residents) of Orange County between the ages of 17-24 who identify as LGBTQI or straight allies who have directly supported LGBTQI youth and/or the LGBTQI community. Applicants must be graduating high school seniors and college/vocational students and have a minimum 2.0 GPA. An essay and a reference are required for the application. Each scholarship has a set of requirements: specific factors that determine whether or not you're eligible to apply. What if I don't hear back from a scholarship?
If you haven't heard back within a few weeks, reach out to the scholarship organization! Some scholarship organizations email all the applicants to let them know if they were selected or not, while others only contact the winners—it usually depends on the number of applicants. It never hurts to follow up.
