Overview

The Verne LaMarr Lyons Scholarship provides $4,183 to Master's Degree candidates in social work who demonstrate an interest in or has experience with health/mental health practice and are committed to working in African American communities. To qualify, you need to be an NASW member. Non-members interested in applying can join NASW. To apply, you should write an essay and submit two references. If that sounds like a fit for you, apply!

To have a copy of your official transcript submitted for a scholarship application, you'll need to contact the registrar's office and ask that they send your transcript to the address you provide. Tip: Make sure to do this far in advance!

For a college transcript, you can also contact the registrar's office, or, you can submit a request through your college portal. FYI: Colleges often charge a fee for this.
